Haiti: How Can We Help? by Tanya Glass
On January 12, 2010 a 7.0 earthquake hit the southwestern region of the country at Port au Prince. Thousands of people homeless, injured, and killed as a result. Organizations around the world are coming to the help for the country. Click HERE to see all the organizations that are serving to help the nation of Haiti.
ImpelMinistry.com has relationship with two very wonderful ministries actively involved with the people of Haiti: Danita’s Children and CANVAS Church. Please keep them in your prayers and visit their sites to get involved.
Danita’s Children, fortunately, was not directly impacted by the earthquake. Danita’s ministry is based out of Orlando, Florida, but operates in northern part of the country near the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Their vision is clear: “We rescue, love and care for orphans, meeting their needs spiritually, physically, academically and emotionally—preparing them for a brighter future.” I’ve had the pleasure of meeting one of the staff members and hearing testimonies of how God is meeting the needs of the kids. They provide complete housing, schooling, and medical attention for the children. Visit their website here (www.danitaschildren.org.)
Another ministry we have relationship with is CANVAS Church in Jacksonville, Florida, senior pastor Aaron Maners. His church is directly connected to the relief efforts happening in Haiti and are partnering with Air Mobile Ministries and Ruuska Village Orphanage. You can check out what they are doing and how to get invovled at www.canvaschurch.net.
