Update with David & Liz
It’s been about 10 months since I have posted on Impel. From a blogger’s perspective, that’s a great strategy if you want to create a virtual ghost town. But, in all seriousness, Liz and I have been taking some time to refocus, pray and seek God for our next steps.
The last few months Liz and I have been enjoying being newly weds and doing life together. We’ve cut back in involving ourselves with a lot of ministry, which meant our involvement in a lot of church activities and events, writing/blogging, and leadership conferences. Initially, we didn’t want to do this, because being involved in our local church and doing ministry locally and globally is a big part of our lives. But, we wanted to give the first year of our marriage to each other, before we started giving out to everything else. Also, in our individual career’s started requiring much more time demand and travel.
On the flip side of these last 10 months, Liz and I have had lots of opportunities to speak and minister together and sometimes on our own in front of different church groups. We’ve also had the privilege to invest and mentor other young leaders and couples. As we move forward please keep the following in your prayers over the next few months:
It was in December 2010, and my pastor, Earl McClellan and I met at a coffee house in Austin, Texas. It was at this meeting Earl told me about his transition to launch a new church plant in January 2012. I knew at that moment Liz and I would be on the leadership team of this great church. However, I was about to propose to Liz later that week and then getting married in July 2011. Liz and I knew a lot of things would have to unfold for us to join this new work in the near future. So, in the meantime, we kept all the details and logistics in God’s hands. As we transition in our career’s, find a new home, please, keep praying that God helps us relocate to Dallas to join the Shoreline Dallas Leadership team.
